![]() Head through the next room till you reach a surrealist looking, almost heavenly-white environment. Once you find yourself in a room of colourful pillars, walk straight through the white wall where you will then find another door to go through. The black stairs in this strange world are real this time, so walk up them and follow the black path. Once you are in the next area, find the stairs and walk through them to reach an inverted realm. You will soon find a large switch that needs to be turned off. Next, walk away and towards the island you will see - it has an orange tower. Jump onto the window and continue through the doorway. Place the window next to the door so that it is finally within your reach. The window you just familiarised yourself with is actually a block. Related: Superliminal Review: Perception InceptionĮventually, you will find a door that is too high to initially reach. Then, go towards the window which will take you to another corridor similar to the one you have just been in. Enter it and roam the corridor until you find yourself in a white room. As you continue, you will soon find an ‘exit’ sign that points toward another door. Believe it or not, this shadow is a doorway - enter it. Seek out a cabinet that is not near a wall, but instead casting a shadow on the wall. Once in the white corridor beyond the door, continue straight. Once nearby, brave the rain until you reach the next doorway. Carry on through the room until you find another doorway in a faraway fog. The doorway will lead you to the Reception room. This will reveal yet another doorway you can go through. At this point, you can pick up a sizable black board and move it out of the way. After this, head into the black abyss in the floor, then the white abyss, then another black abyss again. Continue to walk through the doorway until you reach another door that has a white frame. Otherwise? I might just say to play it while it’s still on there. If you wait a small while, a tower will appear that you can then approach and enter. Should you buy it? If you’re really into it and want to support the developer? Then by all means… Go right ahead. ![]() Is it a worthwhile pickup? Sure, it’s on Game Pass. On the audio front, you’ll be treated to some soothing songs while you make your way through the levels. Me, myself, I couldn’t really play this game for long stretches, due to the FOV just being way too massive for my liking. Due to this specific quirk in gameplay, a motion sickness bag may be a worthwhile investment. You manipulate the objects around you by picking them up and, through the power of the field of depth, enlarge or shrink the object, to fit into the need of your traversal path. Everything is far from it!īecause, as I previously mentioned, depth perception isn’t just an option here, the entire game revolves around it. ![]() Though, don’t let this mislead you into thinking that it’ll be a walk in the park. You traverse through the levels by manipulating the objects in your surrounding area. Superliminal is a weird beast that will screw your depth perception over more than once. We already have a full review of the PC version of this game from 2021, which you can check out. If you’re interested in a different and somewhat chaotic experience I’d recommend you give it a try. The only bad thing I can say about Mayhem in Single Valley is that I experienced FPS drops when I was in a big area with lots of zombies. The electronic soundtrack also works nicely with the chaos around you and feels a bit on the retro side. The 2D and 3D mix here worked pretty well visually, feeling unique compared to other games that do this. Gameplay-wise, I liked the idea of throwing things the animal/human likes to distract, and eventually turn them back to normal or even infect them, but I wasn’t a fan of the platforming because it sometimes felt difficult for me to get the proper angle for a jump, thanks to the camera angle chosen. ![]() When you’re ready to go, the real mayhem starts thanks to a mysterious liquid capable of turning every being into a kind of zombie. It turns out that scene was all just a dream, and it’s the day you’re supposed to start college somewhere else. As the name suggests, there’s plenty of mayhem to get from this game, and you’ll notice that as soon as you start a new game as your character will fly right next to a plane and you’ll see clones of yourself falling from it. ![]()
